Adellum Baptist Church was organized Sunday, July 3, 1903. 

 

The organization of Adellum Baptist Church was under the leadership of Reverend Ed Smith. The Organizational meeting named the following as Charter Members: Rev. Ed Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Liege Hare, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hare, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lundy, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Stokes, and Mr. Norman McIntosh. The church was first named “The Baptist Church of Christ in Adullam”, with the name coming from the Biblical town of Adullam, located 13 miles southwest of Jerusalem (1 Samuel 22:1).
